Part 3: How The Virtues Campus Can Help

The path to a debt-free college degree begins with being informed. This is Part 3 of a 3-part series highlighting important information that every family should know, the steps to take to a debt-free degree, and how students can find help on their journey.

Previously, we shared discouraging trends regarding college costs, student loan debt, and career-readiness of graduates. We've also provided steps to take to overcome these obstacles and create a path for success. Now, we want to show you how we can help you with your goals!

At The Virtues Campus, we've made it our mission to create a college solution for students looking for a way to graduate with an accredited, faith-based education — without the burden of having to pay back student loans.

We are a non-profit educational Christian ministry that offers a faith-based on-campus experience for students taking online courses. A cohort of up to 25 students meets at a local church campus Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings for three hours studying Bible, application principles, and working through an intensive career-readiness program. Trained academic pastors provide oversight and guidance at each church campus.

Our program is designed to enrich the online experience, allowing students to take advantage of the flexibility of online classes while giving them the encouragement and mentoring that only face-to-face interaction can bring.

Here are merely a few of the many ways The Virtues Campus can help you tackle the obstacles we have previously mentioned:

Obstacle: College costs are rising at an alarming rate, and students are often taking on insurmountable debt to pay for it.
How we can help: The Virtues Campus students receive an affordable education by taking classes online through the institution of their choice. Students who enroll in our partner university also receive a massive tuition discount. The flexibility of online classes allows students to work part-time while in school, offering the opportunity to graduate debt-free.

Obstacle: Many students lack purpose and are unsure of where their futures should take them.

How we can help: The Virtues Campus offers an intensive career guidance program to identify a student’s next steps for college and career. Through an in-depth assessment and personal consultation, we offer tools to help you find purpose in your passions and fulfillment in your studies and work.

Obstacle: Almost half of all college students are failing to complete their degrees in a timely manner or graduate at all.
How we can help: The Virtues Campus academic pastors provide students with individual educational advising to help keep them on track. We also offer guidance for credit-by-exam options for students who want to test out of certain college courses. Graduate on time, or even ahead of schedule.

Obstacle: Students are woefully unprepared, with most graduates leaving college without a job.
How we can help: The Virtues Campus fosters career-readiness through internship coaching, job shadowing, and community service — peers, the church, the local community and businesses become a living classroom. You'll set yourself apart from other graduates with real-world experience and skills that employers are seeking.
